Democracy and the Internet—Re-examining the Core Assumptions (April 30, 2009)

In a recent talk, Open Society Fellow Evgeny Morozov scrutinized the impact the web has had on governance and free expression, within both authoritarian states and established democracies. Morozov focused on the threats and dangers that the Internet poses to open society and discussed ways in which various authoritarian governments and extremist movements are using the web to their own advantage.
